Elizabeth Gallagher - Office Manager
Elizabeth has had 20 years of Management experience, first as a Director of a Foreign Exchange Organization where she was responsible for bringing in foreign students and placing them in homes from Northern Virginia through Cape Cod and then as a Director for a local Senior Assisted Living Residence. Elizabeth was on-board with Sunshine Orthodontics from it’s inception and is responsible for all the marketing as well as office and personnel functions. It is Elizabeth’s dream to make everyone who comes through the doors, of the practice, to feel like “family” and she hires staff who share in her philosophy. Outside of work, Elizabeth and her husband, of 30 years, have 5 wonderful children (2 of whom still live at home full time). Leisure activities include: spending time with her family (including the four legged members) and friends, travelling, volunteering her time for a variety of causes, and reading.
Aiden Gallagher - Sterilization Specialist
Aiden volunteered at Sunshine Orthodontics since it opened in January of 2007 and was officially asked to join the “Sunshine Team” in June of 2009. Aiden is our Sterilization Specialist and as an added bonus (to our team) has designed our Facebook and Twitter Pages as well as the creator of our YouTube Video. Aiden attends Dutchess Community College and in her spare time loves to ski, play softball, spend time at the beach and work on non-for-profit causes (one of which is her very own, BeatingLupus). Her dream is to one day be an Event Planner but for now she is enjoying her time working with her friends at Sunshine Orthodontics.
Jennifer Gauquie - Orthodontic Assistant
After spending 16 years in general dentistry, Jennifer joined the “Sunshine” family in May of 2009. She is a DANB certified and NYS Licensed Dental Assistant with a passion for dentistry. When not at work, she spends her time with her family. She and her husband are raising two wonderful children.
Debbie Pennachio - Insurance Specialist
Debbie had worked in the orthodontic field for 2 years as an appointment scheduler before joining Sunshine Orthodontics as their Insurance Specialist. She is a former teaching assistant and enjoys working with children. Leisure activities include bowling and playing softball. Debbie also enjoys card making, scrapbooking, and movie nights with her family and occasional getaways with her husband.
Meisha-Gaye Smetak - Orthodontic Assistant
Meisha recently moved to the New York area from Maryland with her husband Mike. Mike recently completed 7 1/2 years of service in the army and is now enrolled in school at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. While in Maryland, Meisha worked as a Licensed Orthodontist Assistant for 5 years. Her work, in the field, has inspired her to pursue goals of hygiene and then dental school to eventually become an orthodontist. Meisha will begin her pursuit this upcoming spring at NYU. She enjoys the day to day contact with patients from various backgrounds and looks forward to the building of relationships from the “beginning to the end” of a patient’s treatment and the beautiful smiles that are created. In her spare time, Meisha enjoys, fitness, travel, foreign languages, modeling and socializing with friends.
